Our Adult Christian Education program offers a variety of Scripture-based programs that encourage group study, fellowship, and mission involvement. Some classes are held on Sunday mornings during the Church School hour; and others meet during the week or in the evenings. View a listing of our 2024-2025 Christian Education programs for all ages.

Westminster also offers our Aperture series one evening a month. Aperture brings speakers and seekers, authors and professors, formers, and reformers to help us focus more on God’s truth all around us. All are welcome!

Class offerings change from time to time as new interests develop within our congregation. Members and guests are invited to join any class at any time. We’re always happy to add new voices to the conversation!

Sunday Morning Church School
Bible Roundtable is called “the Roundtable” because the leader is more of a moderator than a lecturer. This class focuses on a specific book of the Bible and reads it verse by verse, going around the table, stopping at logical points for discussion. You need not be steeped in the Bible to see how these passages relate to what is happening in our lives and the community. Join Bible Roundtable on any Sunday! Don’t worry if you are coming in the middle of a study, or if you can attend only on occasion. The leaders this year are Eric Wolf and Richard Terminello.

The Present Word is designed to meet the needs of regular participants, occasional attendees, and visitors. Volunteer Bible scholars lead each class, and the classes meet throughout the calendar year either in person or virtually. During the previous quarter, the Present Word class focused on the concept of “call” in the New Testament – the beginning of a call, calls in Jesus’ ministry, and the call of women. More recently, the class studied the synoptic gospels, the Gospel of John, and the Book of Acts.

Sojourners is focused on how to live one’s Christian beliefs in the challenges of contemporary society. Leadership of the class is voluntary and rotates each Sunday. Sojourners are committed to providing a space where all opinions are welcome, where class participants can listen to those who may have differing views and come away having grown in their love for one another and others in our world. This fall, the group is reading and discussing Life Worth Living – A Guide to What Matters Most by Miroslav Volf.

Faithful Parents Gathering offers connection and learning from other parents and caregivers. Whether you are a parent of a preschooler or a high schooler, come to the parlor for fellowship and conversations to help you learn and grow in your journey of faith with God and in your ministry as a parent/loving caregiver.

Short-Term Electives for adults are developed to meet the ever-changing needs of our congregation. Adults, married and single, with or without children, parents of elementary-aged children and youth, empty-nesters, and retired folks will all find relevant studies and discussions designed for forming faith in real life. Our short-term electives are offered on Sunday mornings during the Church School hour.

Bible & Book Studies for Adults
Bible and book studies are open to members and guests alike. You’re invited to attend any of these at any time; there’s no problem with joining a study mid-topic. We love it when new voices join the conversation.

Monday Morning Study Group:  This group is currently reading and discussing Soul Feast: An Invitation to the Christian Spiritual Life by Marjorie J. Thompson.

Doorways:  A women’s prayer and Bible study group that meets Thursday mornings, 9:30-11:00am

Men’s Book Club:  The Men’s Book Club, led by the Rev. Chris Tuttle, meets on the third Thursday at noon. This fall, the group will be reading and discussing Life Worth Living – A Guide to What Matters Most by Miroslav Volf. Newcomers and “drop-ins” are always welcome!

Seekers:  A women’s fellowship Bible study group that meets the second Monday evening of each month at 7:15pm

Aperture Series
Aperture: Third Wednesdays is our monthly series of gatherings for seeking light on God’s truth through the stories, struggles, and experiences of God’s people. Aperture brings speakers and seekers, authors and professors, formers and reformers to help us focus more on God’s truth all around us. Watch past Apertures on our YouTube channel.
Special Electives
Short-Term Electives for adults are developed to meet the ever-changing needs of our congregation. Adults, married and single, with or without children, parents of elementary-aged children and youth, empty-nesters, and retired folks will all find relevant studies and discussions designed for forming faith in real life. Our short-term electives are offered on Sunday mornings during the Church School hour.
Women's Retreats
All women of the church are invited to two annual Women’s Retreats. The Fall Retreat is a one-day event at a local site. The Spring Retreat lasts for a weekend, from Friday evening to Sunday morning. A committee of women recruits the leaders and coordinates the retreats, which are always enlightening, inspiring, and entertaining. See the calendar for dates of upcoming retreats, or contact the church office.
