Pledge to Support Westminster’s Mission & Ministries in 2025
It comes down to this: Everything rests on God’s promises. Found throughout Scripture, these promises affirm that God is always faithful, with a deep love for us that never changes. We will explore God’s promises over the next several Sundays as part of Westminster’s Season of Stewardship:
September 29 (Exodus 12:1-13; 13:1-8): God’s promise to the enslaved Hebrews, signified by the Passover
October 6 (Exodus 32:1-14): The idol of the golden calf, God’s promise of forgiveness to the Israelites in the wilderness
October 13 (1 Samuel 1:9-11, 19-20; 2:1-10): God’s compassion for Hannah, God’s promise of care for those in need
October 20 (2 Samuel 7:1-17): God’s promise to David
October 27 (1 Kings 5:1-5; 8:27-30, 41-43): Solomon’s promise to God to build the temple and make a place for God among the people, a response to God’s faithfulness and sovereignty
As a family of faith, our congregation worked together to weather the pandemic years. So many have worked with energy and imagination to rebuild the church’s worship, education, and outreach ministries to pre-pandemic operations and participation levels. Through it all, God has been faithful.
Having rebuilt the foundation, now is the time to reach forward, toward God’s vision for us. Over the past year, Westminster has added new members, adapted new faith formation opportunities for all ages, invested in our community in new ways, and added remarkable new staff. The church is on the brink of entering a new season in its life and ministry. What will this new season look like? We also see new needs and challenges emerging in the community we serve. How will we, as a church, respond? How will each of us, as disciples of Jesus, live our faith with generosity and hope?
The church relies on our annual pledges to provide the financial resources needed to fund everything we do as a faith community, from paying the salaries of our pastors and staff to supporting our outreach ministries, our pastoral care, our worship, our education programs, our music, and our facilities that welcome the community every day of the week.
Practically speaking, a pledge is an estimate of our giving for the coming year. Spiritually speaking, it is our response to the abundant blessings in our lives. Pledging helps to transform our giving into a spiritual practice. With a pledge, we make a commitment to God and to our church. When we fulfill our pledges, it becomes a regular spiritual practice, like attending worship, praying, studying, and serving in the community.
We ask that you prayerfully consider how you will – in response to God’s faithfulness – pledge to support the mission and ministries of this church in 2025. You can make your pledge now through your myWPC account (log in first, then activate the link or view these step-by-step instructions), download a pledge form to fill in and drop off at the church, or contact Sharon Morgan, Westminster’s Business Manager, with your pledge details. Thank you!
